What Kevin Durant & Steph Curry Are Doing is Also Ridiculous

We are in an unprecedented time in the NBA. As of writing this, LeBron James has recorded a triple double in four straight games for the first time in his career. The fact that he is doing this in his 22nd season, just weeks away from turning 40, is jaw-dropping. He deserves all the praise that comes his way as he continues to defy Father Time.
That said, with LeBron's great start to the season, it's been to easy to overlook how great the other two "old" all-time greats of this generation have been playing in Steph Curry and Kevin Durant. In their own right, Durant and Curry are also changing the expectations we have for all-time great players in their mid-to-late 30s, demonstrating that their play hasn't declined with age.
Durant has started this season playing at an MVP level and may have been considered the favorite for the award before missing time due to a calf injury. In his 17th season, he is averaging nearly 28 points per game and remains one of the NBA's most prolific scorers, if not the best "go get me a bucket guy" in the league. His ability to score from anywhere on the floor, combined with his underrated defense and overall versatility, keeps him among the best players in basketball, even at age 36. Additionally, not enough recognition has been given to Durant's ability to stay at the top of his game, while overcoming career-threatening injuries over the past decade, including a torn Achilles, which some consider the worst injury in all of sports.
In the Bay Area, Stephen Curry has led the Golden State Warriors near the top of the conference and continues to perform at an MVP level at age 36. His impact on the game remains extraordinary, as he remains one of the league’s best offensive talents. Beyond his unparalleled shooting ability, Curry’s agility, basketball IQ, and knack for uplifting his teammates will be crucial if the Warriors are to contend for a title this year.
Even if LeBron's performance and longevity still takes the center stage of NBA conversation, Durant and Curry are quietly outperforming Father Time as well. Along with James', both KD and Steph are still among the league's best, and it is just absurd how consistent and dominant they are at a time in their careers when most players would start to decline. It isn’t just impressive, it’s ridiculous what these guys are doing at this point.
