The Silcoff Selections: NFL Week 12 Picks Straight Up & ATS

Updated: Nov 23

The Silcoff Selections are here for Week 12 of the 2024 NFL Season! Below are my records for my straight up and against the spread picks for the season thus far.

Records Last Week:

Straight Up: 10-4

Against The Spread: 9-5

Season Records:

Straight Up: 108-58

Against The Spread: 80-81-5

Teams On Byes: Falcons, Bills, Bengals, Jaguars, Saints, Jets

Thursday Night Football: Pittsburgh Steelers (8-2) @ Cleveland Browns (2-8) I Line: Steelers -3.5

After a close victory over the Ravens last week, could this be the ultimate trap game for the Steelers? Potentially, and if the Browns pull off the upset, I wouldn't be shocked at all. Nevertheless, Pittsburgh's defense continues to establish itself as one of the best in the NFL, and the Steelers are simply finding ways to win every week. The defense overwhelms Cleveland, and Pittsburgh clinches Mike Tomlin's 18th straight winning season.

Prediction: Steelers 23, Browns 15

Early Sunday Slate

Minnesota Vikings (8-2) @ Chicago Bears (4-6) I Line: Vikings -3.5

Under Thomas Brown, the new offensive coordinator, Caleb Williams performed a lot better than he had in recent weeks. But this Vikings defense has been outstanding all season, so I anticipate that Brian Flores' team will overwhelm Williams. Although the Vikings' offense hasn't been very good lately, I believe the defense gives them some short-field opportunities to work with.

Prediction: Vikings 21, Bears 16

Detroit Lions (9-1) @ Indianapolis Colts (5-6) I Line: Lions -7.5

Following their Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit has won eight in a row. The Lions have scored 40 points or more five times in those eight games. Anthony Richardson returned to the Colts lineup last week, and he did look good, but I believe this was a terrible matchup for the Colts. Indy struggles to stop and defend the run as the Lions win their ninth straight.

Prediction: Lions 28, Colts 18

New England Patriots (3-8) @ Miami Dolphins (4-6) I Line: Dolphins -7.5

Since coming back from a concussion, Tua Tagovailoa has played very well. All of a sudden, the Dolphins are back in the playoff hunt after two straight wins, but they have a small margin for error. I think New England makes Miami uncomfortable, even though I am sure the Dolphins will win. Drake Maye has improved every week for the Patriots, and I think he has a solid day.

Prediction: Dolphins 23, Patriots 20

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6) @ New York Giants (2-8) I Line: Buccaneers -6

The Giants have benched Daniel Jones and with Tommy DeVito coming in, New York is fully committed to dropping as many games as possible to secure a top draft choice. Baker Mayfield and the Bucs easily defeat the Giants now that Mike Evans is back, as Tampa attempts to regain a playoff spot in the NFC.

Prediction: Buccaneers 27, Giants 14

Dallas Cowboys (3-7) @ Washington Commanders (7-4) I Line: Commanders -10

Although it's easy to go after the Cowboys at right now, the Commanders haven't performed well lately on their own right. Dallas does stay around for a while, but I am sure Washington wins this one.

Prediction: Commanders 27, Cowboys 18

Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) @ Carolina Panthers (3-7) I Line: Chiefs -11

If the Chiefs hadn't lost last week, I would have been all over Panthers +11. But after their first loss, this is a perfect bounce-back spot for Kansas City. Despite Bryce Young's better performances over his last two games, he has yet to face a defense like this Chiefs unit. Chiefs win convincingly.

Prediction: Chiefs 26, Panthers 13

Tennessee Titans (2-8) @ Houston Texans (7-4) I Line: Texans -8.5

Like Bryce Young, Will Levis has looked better in his two starts post-injury. Although the Texans dominated Dallas on Monday night, I have not been impressed with them at all this season. I don't have the guts to go all the way there, but I would not be surprised in the least if the Titans pull off the divisional upset. The Texans win, but in a much closer battle than some might think.

Prediction: Texans 24, Titans 19

Sunday Afternoon Slate

Denver Broncos (6-5) @ Las Vegas Raiders (2-8) I Line: Broncos -6

Bo Nix and this Denver's offense has been getting better and last week was their best outing yet. Denver's defense is one of the best in football and the Raiders simply cannot score.

Prediction: Broncos 26, Raiders 16

Arizona Cardinals (6-4) @ Seattle Seahawks (5-5) I Line: Cardinals -1

After beating the 49ers last week for the first time since 2021, the Seahawks are coming off perhaps the franchise's biggest win since 2022, when they beat Russell Wilson's Broncos in Week 1 of that season. As a fan of this team, I know what to expect. Seattle, every time you think they have turned a corner, tends to come out flat the following week. Arizona has been the more consistent team this season, and I think the Cardinals go into Seattle and win—but I hope I am wrong.

Prediction: Cardinals 24, Seahawks 22

San Francisco 49ers (5-5) @ Green Bay Packers (7-3) I Line: Packers -5.5

The 49ers are without star pass rusher Nick Bosa, and quarterback Brock Purdy. This should be a get right game for Green Bay.

Prediction: Packers 24, 49ers 10

Sunday Night Football: Philadelphia Eagles (8-2) @ Los Angeles Rams (5-5) I Line: Eagles -3

The Eagles are rolling, and the Rams' offense has been wildly inconsistent. I expect Eagles fans to take over Sofi on Sunday night, and Philly to soar to 9-2.

Prediction: Eagles 24, Rams 20

Monday Night Football: Baltimore Ravens (7-4) @ Los Angeles Chargers (7-3) I Line: Ravens -3

The Harbowl is a great way to kick off Thanksgiving week around America. John is currently 2-0 against Jim, including a win in Super Bowl 47 when John's Ravens took down Jim's 49ers. Under Jim, the Chargers have surpassed expectations this season and have become one of the most physical teams in football seemingly overnight. In my opinion, this will be their real coming-out party. The Chargers win as Justin Herbert destroys this weak Ravens secondary.

Prediction: Chargers 26, Ravens 23
