The Silcoff Selections: NFL Week 10 Picks Straight Up & ATS

The Silcoff Selections are here for Week 10 of the 2024 NFL Season! Below are my records for my straight up and against the spread picks for the season thus far.

Records Last Week:

Straight Up: 10-5

Against The Spread: 6-9

Season Records:

Straight Up: 88-50

Against The Spread: 66-67-5

Teams On Byes: Browns, Packers, Raiders, Seahawks

Thursday Night Football: Cincinnati Bengals (4-5) @ Baltimore Ravens (6-3) I Line: Ravens -6

The Bengals would return to.500 and be in the thick of things in the AFC playoffs with a victory. Cincy will be desperate, but it won't be enough. Lamar Jackson and this offense always seem to turn it on in primetime, and the Ravens have been very successful against Joe Burrow throughout his career. With no Tee Higgins for the Bengals, I think the Ravens win by a touchdown.

Prediction: Ravens 31, Bengals 24

Germany Game: New York Giants (2-7) vs Carolina Panthers (2-7) I Line: Giants -6

It was great to see Bryce Young walk off the field smiling after the Panthers beat the Saints in last week's game. However, he faces one of the NFL's top defensive lines on Sunday in the Giants, and despite their quarterback's inconsistent play, New York does have playmakers in Tyrone Tracey Jr. and Malik Nabers on this offense. The Giants leave Germany with their third win of the season.

Prediction: Giants 23, Panthers 13

Atlanta Falcons (6-3) @ New Orleans Saints (2-7) I Line: Falcons -3.5

After starting 2-0, the Saints seem to have given up. They fired their coach and traded arguably their best player. Even though the "new coach theory" makes me a bit apprehensive, I'll go with Atlanta on the road. The offense has improved, and the defense continues to make progress. The Falcons are by far the more reliable team and should pick up their fifth divisional win of the season.

Prediction: Falcons 28, Saints 20

Buffalo Bills (7-2) @ Indianapolis Colts (4-5) I Line: Bills -4

The Colts will continue to start Joe Flacco at quarterback despite his poor performance against the Vikings last week. With four straight wins, the Bills essentially have already won the AFC East. Buffalo hosts the Chiefs in their biggest game of the season next week, and given how badly the Colts offense played a week ago, I could see this game being a possible trap game for them.  It won't be easy for Buffalo, but I believe Josh Allen leads a game-winning drive late in the game. That said, don't be surprised if Indianapolis pulls off the upset.

Prediction: Bills 23, Colts 20

Denver Broncos (5-4) @ Kansas City Chiefs (8-0) I Line: Chiefs -8

After beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30–24 on Monday, momentum has started to pick up about whether an undefeated season is possible for the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes has historically owned the Broncos, as he has a record of 12-1 against Denver, with that one loss coming last year. Even after losing badly to Baltimore last week, the Broncos still have one of the NFL's top defenses, and quarterback Bo Nix appears to be developing every week. Much like the Bills in Indy, I do think Kansas City could be looking ahead to the game of the season, and although I don't think Denver wins, I think they give the Chiefs all they can handle.

Prediction: Chiefs 27, Broncos 20

Minnesota Vikings (6-2) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7) I Line: Vikings -7

It's amazing that Doug Pederson is still the coach of this team, as the Jaguars once again missed a chance to steal a game last week in Philadelphia. This game is fairly simple to me: the Vikings have one of the best coaching staffs in football, if not the best, and they are playing a team that has quit on their coach, has one of the worst defenses in the league, and now is without their quarterback. It’s possible that Sam Darnold will have his best game of the year in this one.

Prediction: Vikings 30, Jaguars 20

New England Patriots (2-7) @ Chicago Bears (4-4) I Line: Bears -6

Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears host Drake Maye and the New England Patriots on Sunday in a battle between the first and third quarterbacks taken in last year's draft. Since becoming the starter a few weeks ago, Maye has shown a lot of promise. Last week, he had one of the best plays of the season to force OT against the Titans. Chicago is now 4-4 on the season after a tough loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9. After an eventful couple of weeks, I think Chicago rebounds, as the Bears need this win to stay in the NFC playoff race. Bears win.

Prediction: Bears 24, Patriots 16

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) @ Washington Commanders (7-2) I Line: Commanders -3

Russell Wilson has performed well for the Steelers since returning from a calf injury, and this offense has become far more formidable with him under center. The Commanders, currently sitting first in the NFC East behind rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, continue to be the league's biggest surprise this season. Even though I find it difficult to bet against Washington right now, Pittsburgh coming off a bye week is the deciding factor. I think Russ will have some success against this shaky Washington defense, and the Steelers get key stops late to steal this one.

Prediction: Steelers 23, Commanders 21

San Francisco 49ers (4-4) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5) I Line: 49ers -5.5

Assuming all goes right for him this week, welcome back Christian McCaffrey! Given that the Bucs are coming off a road game on Monday night, this is a tough spot for Tampa Bay. The 49ers, meanwhile, are fresh off their bye week, so with the extra time to prepare, I think the Niners will be sharp and ready to go, especially with their star running back back in action. Kyle Shanahan's offense has dominated this Buccaneers defense the last two seasons, and with Tampa Bay’s injuries, I am sensing a 49ers win.

Prediction: 49ers 27, Buccaneers 17

Tennessee Titans (2-6) @ Los Angeles Chargers (5-3) I Line: Chargers -7.5

This game feels awfully similar to the Chargers-Saints game a few weeks ago. Regardless of who starts, the Titans' quarterback options—Will Levis and Mason Rudolph—will be an issue, especially when facing this excellent Charger defense. Over the past two games, Justin Herbert and this offense have also begun to look much better, and I believe Los Angeles wins comfortably.

Prediction: Chargers 24, Titans 10

New York Jets (3-6) @ Arizona Cardinals (5-4) I Line: Cardinals -1

Much like the Titans-Chargers game, my analysis for this game relies on a somewhat similar matchup: Arizona's win last week over Chicago. Even with their victory, I still think the Jets are a bad football team, and although they had more time to prepare, I don’t believe their staff knows how to take full advantage in this kind of situation. Kyler Murray is playing very well and maximizing his dual-threat ability, as Arizona is playing good football right now. Give me the Cardinals to win their fourth straight game.

Prediction: Cardinals 28, Jets 21

Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-5) I Line: Eagles -7.5

No Dak Prescott? Major problems for Dallas. Without their quarterback, the Cowboys, who have been in the bottom ten in almost every category, should only become worse. The Eagles are just the better team, and I believe they dominate the Cowboys.

Prediction: Eagles 30, Cowboys 17

Sunday Night Football: Detroit Lions (7-1) @ Houston Texans (6-3) I Line: Lions -3.5

Detroit is playing like the most complete and well-balanced football team, and the Texans aren't healthy. Lions go into Houston and win another game.

Prediction: Lions 29, Texans 20

Monday Night Football: Miami Dolphins (2-6) @ Los Angeles Rams (4-4) I Line: Rams -2.5

As someone who very much dislikes the Los Angeles Rams, it kills me to say it, but I am very bullish on this team right now. They are getting healthy and hot at the right time, and they look like an entirely different team when Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are both on the field. Despite Tua's return for the Dolphins, they haven’t won either of the two games, though they have been far more competitive. I expect a similar result.

Prediction: Rams 28, Dolphins 24
