With July nearly in the books, it is time to rank the movies I watched this month (AKA, Deadpool month).
9. Twister (1996):
I wanted to give this a try based on all the hype surrounding the remake that is currently in theatres, and although the opening scene was riveting, I completely lost interest around the 30-minute mark of this movie.
LetterBoxd Rating: 2.5/5
8. Deadpool 2 (2018):
Still funny but nowhere near as compelling of a story as its 2016 predecessor, the kid storyline never worked for me. However, X Force will forever remain in our hearts and Brad Pitt's might be one of the funniest of the last decade.

7. Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
The Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman superhero team-up we have waiting for what seems like forever for was perhaps the most anticipated film of 2024, and probably due to such high expectations, the film did not deliver in terms of plot for me.
That being said, Jackman & Reynolds' chemistry is off the charts (as expected), the action scenes are top-notch, it might be the most hysterical Deadpool film to date, and I must give credit where it's due, Disney did not interfere with this one whereas we get all the R-rated content we are accustomed to in the Deadpool franchise.
Overall, I had a good time but it is not a top-tier superhero movie ever made so fans expected it before its release.

6. The Founder (2016)
It is movies like this that give me a hard time believing Michael Keaton was ever a good Batman because he plays such a great antagonist.
Before this movie, I did not realize how much backstabbing there was in the creation of McDonald's and it made me feel awful for Richard & Maurice McDonald who essentially got their creation pulled right from under them and never got truly compensated for their involvement in the company.
P.S., I miss the old vintage aesthetic of McDonald's and someone should open one in Vancouver with that 1950s look.
LetterBoxd Rating: 3.5/5
5. Aftersun (2022)
Because of the reviews I have seen online for this film, I was fairly excited to watch it and although I wouldn't say it is one of the greatest films ever made, it is one of the most emotional.
I love how it captured the brave face parents put on for their children, even when they are battling inner demons, to make sure they can do anything in their power to see their child smile and create memories that will last a lifetime.
LetterBoxd Rating: 4/5
4. Deadpool (2016)
I won't get much more into these Deadpool movies but this is still by far the best one in the franchise.
LetterBoxd Rating: 4/5
3. Past Lives (2023)
Beautifully executed & written.
Just because you are in love and they are the right person for you, doesn't mean it is meant to be in this lifetime.
LetterBoxd Rating: 4.5/5
2. The Big Lebowski (1998)
DUDEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Top 3 comedy ever made.
LetterBoxd Rating: 4.5/5
Logan (2017)
I mean... It was the perfect send-off for Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
The old man Logan storyline done perfectly with an unique Western vibe. If you said this was the greatest superhero movie ever made I wouldn't blame you.
