NFL Mock Draft 2.0: How Was Michigan That Bad In 2024??

Writer: Aaron SilcoffAaron Silcoff

With the NFL Draft now less than a month away, welcome to the second edition of my Mock Draft. With changes across the league and new information emerging over the past week, this edition features a few adjustments. So, sit back and take a look at how I see night one of the draft unfolding!

(1). Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

Based on multiple reports, the Titans are sold on Ward and plan on making him the first overall pick. If all stays according to plan, Ward is headed to Nashville.

(2). Cleveland Browns: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

Cleveland passes on a quarterback and takes perhaps the best player in this year's class in Carter, which would give the Browns one of the best pass rush duos in the NFL straight away with Carter linking up with Myles Garrett.

(3). New York Giants: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

After bringing in two veterans, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, I have a hard time believing the Giants will select a quarterback with the third pick. Instead, New York takes the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Hunter, as another building block while they continue to strengthen the roster before adding a young quarterback

(4). New England Patriots: Will Campbell, OT/G, LSU

This is probably the worst-case scenario for the Patriots, with neither Hunter nor Carter on the board. With that, New England selects Will Campbell. Despite concerns about his arm length, the Patriots didn't address the offensive line much in free agency, and Campbell is the best pure offensive lineman in the draft. Draft the talent and figure out where he plays later.

(5). Jacksonville Jaguars: Jalon Walker, EDGE, Georgia

The Jaguars' pass rush needs a lot of work, and Walker has the traits and physical tools to become a great pro. While he may be a bit raw now, I believe Jacksonville takes him at five.

(6). Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

Not what I would do, but the fact that the Raiders have not done much to address their need at running back makes me think they are planning on taking one early in the draft. Pete Carroll loves to run the football, and with Jeanty on the board, Las Vegas gets their bell cow.

(7). New York Jets: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

Graham should be one of the safer picks in this draft, and if he is available at seven, I think the Jets take the best player available in Graham to become a staple in Aaron Glenn's defense.

(8). Carolina Panthers: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

Not a pick I have seen mocked much, but this one really intrigues me. Bryce Young showed signs of life over the second half of the season, but this Panthers offense needs playmakers. Warren is the best pass catcher on the board and can do so much more. Warren lands in Carolina.

(9). New Orleans Saints: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

The Saints are in cap hell and need to start bringing in cheap young talent. While Derek Carr is the starter for 2025, he is not the long-term answer at quarterback. If Sanders is available, I think the Saints pick him in a selection that gets the fan base excited and makes them relevant for the first time in a while.

(10). Chicago Bears: Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

After addressing the offensive line in free agency and with no Jeanty on the board, Chicago takes Williams to help their defense early, and Ben Johnson aims to take playmakers on offense later in the draft.

  2. Dallas Cowboys: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

  3. Miami Dolphins: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

  5. Atlanta Falcons: Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M

  7. Cincinnati Bengals: James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee

  12. Los Angeles Chargers: Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall

  13. Green Bay Packers: Maxwell Hariston, CB, Kentucky
