NCAA 25 Could Be Sports Video Games Last Hope

After over a decade of waiting, the next installment of the NCAA football video game franchise is finally here!

Ironically, the game that everyone and their mother seems excited about is releasing at a time when sports video games seem past their prime, and fans are no longer looking forward to buying these games every year. With that information in mind, it may be sports video games' last hope.

I say this because, over the last three to five years, I have begun to join the camp that believes these games should no longer be released yearly. I would rather have EA or 2K update the rosters consistently, and come out with a new game every three years or so to make sure the game can live up to the consumer's expectations, especially when it seems as if the price continues to rise yearly.

If this game is not a hit worldwide, it is tough for me to envision a world where games such as Madden, NBA2K, and NHL can ever get back to the level of excitement that was once there with these games.

As someone who loves sports and sports video games, I do hope this game is loved and hopefully, it can inspire the rest of the industry to get these games back on track.
